There’s a reason I chose to send this newsletter out on Sundays. It’s my favorite day of the week. There’s something about sleeping in a little longer, enjoying a slow morning, sipping coffee, and cozying up while reading or journaling that make Sundays the best day ever. It’s my me-day.
I feel like I can vouch for many of us that throughout much of the week our attention is pulled in so many directions. At times it can feel like our time is committed to anything and everything except just being. Calendars fill up, we say yes when we want to say no, everything from everyone seems urgent and before you know it you can’t even remember the last day when you had some me-time.
Solo time is so important because it’s the space that allows you to get to know yourself better. It’s how you deepen your self-love, get in tune with your intuition, take a pause for self reflection, and alchemize the lessons life has brought you.
Without this alone time, you could end up giving in to the whims of everyone except yourself. Living according to expectations set by others to please others, and abandoning yourself along the way. This is why creating little rituals with yourself is so important, even when they don’t seem that “deep” because I promise, they will be.
Sure I read and I journal on my solo Sundays, but I also paint my nails, take a hot bath, do a face mask, and deep condition my hair. This time with myself probably seems superficial, but these little rituals I’ve carved out time for help me to connect with myself. They slow down the pace of life, bringing into focus what I need to address within, what matters most to me, and how I want to show up in my life.
Solo time is so important, whether you’re single, dating, or in a relationship. Creating this ritual with yourself will make the world of difference as you navigate the ebbs and flows of life. So I invite you today, if you haven’t had a solo Sunday, to treat yourself to one. Make today all about you. And if you’re open to sharing, let us know what came up for you as you enjoyed some healthy alone time.
With love,
Kat
