I don’t have my usual newsletter for you this week. I’ve been sick for two weeks (it’s that time of the year 🤒) and I had a small medical procedure this week, so I’ve been mostly cooped up in bed. Feeling under the weather for so long drives me nuts because after a day or two of laying around doing nothing I get bored out of my mind. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good TV binge and I have way too many series in my rotation, but even I have my limits on how much TV I can watch. I had all intentions of throwing myself into writing this week’s newsletter from bed but I’m still not feeling all there. So mostly I’ve just been reading—”The Perfect Couple” by Elin Hilderbrand, this month’s pick for the book club I have with my friends.
The past few weeks have been a lesson in patience for me. Sometimes our body forces us to rest even when we don’t want to. Actually, especially when we don’t want to. I’m recognizing that my body is calling for stillness right now, so I’m respecting its request even though I can think of at least 25 different things I could be doing right now. This stillness has realigned my focus and reminded me of all the things that really matter, and for that I’m grateful. I’m going to lean into rest these next few days, but I look forward to resuming our usual newsletter format next Sunday!
I hope you enjoy the bonus Mend Training I’ve shared in this newsletter. And if you have any recs for me (books, shows, Substack posts, etc.) I’d love to hear them! Wishing you a wonderful week :)
With love,
Kat
